William Hosford was born in Dorsetshire, England in about 1592. He married Florence Hayward (1594-1641) January 21, 1620 in Beaminster, Dorsetshire. They had two daughters and a son. They immigrated to the Massachusetts Bay Colony in about 1633. He married Jane Foulkes in Windsor, Connecticut sometime after 1641. William returned to England in 1657 where he died in Tiverton, Devon sometime after 1666. His son, John (1627-1683) married Phillipa Thrall in 1657 and they had ten children. Descendants and relatives lived in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and elsewhere.
