George Graves (ca. 1600-1673) was born in England, probably in Hertford, Hertfordshire, or Braintree, Essex, England. He was one of the original proprietors of Hartford, Connecticut, where he settled ca. 1636. He married twice and was the father of six children. Descendants listed lived in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, Illinois, and elsewhere.
