This work appears to be undated. The 1964 publication date is based on the title: "...A.D. 1700 to 1964". A 1973 date is sometimes given, probably reflecting a republication date, perhaps in microfilm format.
From FHL Notes:
- Before 1740 there were three families of Edmistons living in Chester County, Pennsylvania who were direct immigrants from Ireland. One of these three was David Turk Edmiston (d.1750), who married Isabella Thompson, and moved from Pennsylvania to Orange County, Virginia in 1740. Descendants and relatives lived in Pennsylvania, Virginia, South Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, California and elsewhere. The introduction cautions researchers not to confuse the Edmiston and Edmondson families, whose ancestry is distinct according to the author.
