Caution

This author copied the ancestry of Richard Pierce of Rhode Island from work done by Col. Frederick Clifton Pierce in 1888, which has been discredited. See, for example, the last paragraph of NEHGR 84(1930):427-433, which finds that Richard Pierce, the husband of Susanna Wright, was likely from Waltham Abbey, where they were married; and Great Migration Begins p. 1472, where F. C. Pierce's work is called "one of his usual confused productions".
