Usage Tips

Coigarch is a peninsula that makes up the northern most third of the very large parish of Lochbroom in Ross and Cromarty in the north of Scotland. Coigarch was, until 1890, the name for the part of Lochbroom that was part of the county of Cromarty when Ross and Cromarty were separate entities.

The website owner is Donald McDonald-Ross and the website is an accumulation of 30 years of genealogical research on the Coigach area--from censuses, militia lists, newspaper clippings, etc. He even includes a map of the peninsula with the names of the farms of the 19th century.
