Caswell County's will books are housed in the office of the Clerk of Court, Caswell County Courthouse, Yanceyville. The will books actually are general record books, containing not only wills but estate inventories, accounts, sales, & settlements, indentures, bills of sale, letters of attorney & deeds of gift, and various reports made by county officials.

Surviving original wills are housed at the Department of Archives & History in Raleigh, North Carolina. The file no. for Caswell is CR 020.801.1-7. The Caswell Guardians' Accounts Book is also at the Archives, file no. CR 020.510.1.

Will Books A-F cover the period 1777 to April 1814 and include 290 wills.
