[edit] DescriptionFirst printed in Chicago in 1850. The author describes the doings of various murderers and thieves in Iowa and Illinois and along the Mississippi in the 1840s. Some of the culprits Bonney asserted to be Mormons, or at least sheltered by the Mormons at Nauvoo. He was involved in tracking down and bringing the malefactors to justice, and played an intimate part in the whole proceeding.
