Usage Tips

There were five persona named Belcher who settled in New England before 1650, and from two of them are descended practically all of the name in the United Stales. These five emigrants, in the order of their arrival in New England, were: Mr. Edward1 Belcher of Boston, Jeremy1, or Jeremiah Belcher of Ipswich, Gregory1 Belcher of Braintree, Andrew1 Belcher of Cambridge, and Thomas1 Belcher of Kittery [from Mr. Bartlett's introductory remarks].
