"The writer of this Mulberry Baptist Church history was born in the community, March 25, 1902, and joined the Mulberry Church at Revival time in 1919. He finished Isabella School in 1921 when it was not yet a full high school, and then left the community for opportunities beyond. He finished high school at Rockford and later attended higher schools of learning at Florence, Jacksonville, Peabody, and the University of Alabama and Auburn. He spent his entire professional life in the teaching profession and school business, retiring in the spring of 1967. This completed manuscript was presented to the church as a gift, this day, September 20, 1968. Signed, Ulysses H. Abrams"
