Covers parishes in the City of York, the Ainsty, numerous parishes in the North and East Ridings and a selection of those in the West Riding. Specific parishes listed on the website.

As well as standard bmd and census materials the society holds resources on York Assizes and the Yorkshire Film Archive, plus more for members only.

Most English family history societyies sell their publications through a central organization called Genfair which has facilities for purchases in non-English currencies.
