The purposes of the Northport Historical Society are:

To discover, procure, interpret and preserve historical material pertaining to Northport and its environs, including East Northport, Fort Salonga, Asharoken and Eaton's Neck.

To promote interest in history; to conduct educational programs and research; to upgrade and maintain the research library, preserve the unique character of the historic museum structure and to acquire and maintain artifacts for the collection.

To take other measures necessary to achieve these objectives.
