LancasterHistory is a private, non-profit membership organization with a mission to promote the identification, preservation and interpretation of materials representing the history of the Lancaster county, Pennsylvania. The Historical Society pre-dates the formation of the non-profit organization, and this page will address the Society in both past and present incarnations.

Lancaster Historical Society periodical

A periodical was published beginning in 1898 and running for at least 59 volumes which went by two, seemingly interchangable names: "Papers read before the Lancaster County Historical Society" and "Historical Papers and Addresses of the Lancaster County Historical Society". This periodical was originally published in a type of pamphlet, soft cover format. In some cases, collections of pamphlets were pulled together in bound volumes. There appear to be at least three ways that the periodical has been preserved digially. First is as scans of the original pamphlet publications; second is as scans of the bound volumes; third is as a concatenated set of scans which might come from multiple full or partial volumes.
