The Society has built up a superb library, by gifts and purchase, over the 50 years of its existence. All the major reference works relating to the city and county of Kilkenny are held, as well as many hard to find minor publications. Among its more important holdings are runs of local newspapers through the eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries. ARCHIVES: the Society's collections include family papers, estate and business records, solicitors' deposits, maps and charity minute books. MUSEUM: the museum houses a general, mixed collection related to the city and county of Kilkenny.
