"The Digitale Historische Bibliotheek of Friesland is a digital library named after Wumkes, the former librarian of the Frisian Provincial Library. It offers the full text of a wealth of titles on Frisian history, language and literature. At the moment of cataloguing 52 titles were available, including the complete volumes of De Vrije Fries from 1839 to date; Friesche Volksalmanak; and Friesch Jierboeckje. Standard works that have long been out-of-print and are kept by the library for reference only are now available on the desktop which is a magnificent help to Frisian historians. Titles include reference works such as Aardrijkskundig Woordenboek der Nederlanden by Van der Aa (with Eekhoff's and Schotanus' parish maps) and Naamlijst der predikanten sedert de hervorming, as well as standard works such as Centraal Gezag en Friesche Vrijheid. Frisian and Old-Frisian linguists are served by Waling Dykstra's Lexicon Frisicum; Van Helten's Altostfriesische Grammatik; Richthofen's Friesische Rechtsquellen. Legal historians will benefit from Richthofen's Untersuchungen uber Friesische Rechtsgeschichte and from primary sources such as Telting's De Friesche Stadrechten and Oude Friesche Wetten by M. de Haan Hettema. The titles are listed alphabetically by author and are searchable. A short description provides a link to the digitized book. For those who still need to see the hard copy, the description is linked directly to the Provincial Library's catalogue. This is an excellent resource of works in Dutch, German or Frisian. The website is entirely in Dutch and easily navigable." -- Web site. (from Family History Library Catalog)
