URLs to Archives of Ontario Pages [3 July 2012]

Archives of Ontario have a very good website, BUT

  • they have changed all their URLs to general reference and history pages
  • this part of the website doesn't flow--imagine a building with rooms and no doors between the rooms--and no directory in the lobby, that's what it's like.

I have sent them an email complaining about this, but no response.

As I discover dead links I am doing my best to fix them, but if I can't find the matching new one--sorry.

Association of Municipalities of Ontario have also changed their URL--and left all the old ones on Google!

First revision of Ontario place names [4 October 2012]

Finished. Hurrah!

I would prefer that someone who knows northern Ontario better than I do would have a go at the modern districts.

I will come back to check out this revision--particularly eastern Ontario which I did first--in a while. Meanwhile I am taking a course on Online Scottish Genealogy from Pharos and updating FamilySearch Wiki for Ontario using what I found out here as my model.

Some "local provision" research tips still to be done, I know. --goldenoldie 11:54, 4 October 2012 (EDT)
