Hamilton, Ontario--Problems [20 September 2012]

The main problems revolve around the fact that Place:Hamilton, Wentworth, Ontario became:

  1. the prime municipality within the Metropolitan Region of Hamilton-Wentworth in 1974
  2. the name of a new single-tier City of Hamilton in 2001

I would like to differentiate the name of the new city from that of its former self. Wentworth County ceased to exist in 1974 and the regional municipality met its demise in 2001, as did all its constituent parts.

I have added a new "municipality" called Place:Hamilton, Ontario, Canada with the full explanation that it did not exist until 2001 and that it should not be used to describe events that took place before that date.

Warning: Place: Toronto, York, Ontario, Canada has gone through the same two re-organizations and really ought to have the extra Place:Toronto, Ontario, Canada as well.
