Nearby communities include Lebanon, Carmel, Whitestown, Westfield, and the northwest suburbs of Indianapolis. Zionsville is most commonly known as a conservative, affluent suburb of Indianapolis. Many businesses in Zionsville are family owned and operated. Although Zionsville is in Boone County, the town tends to be more closely associated with Marion and Hamilton counties because of its location in the extreme southeast corner of Boone County.
