A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Woodhouses from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:

"WOODHOUSES, a township in Mayfield parish, Stafford; 4 miles NW by W of Ashborne. Population: 26. Houses: 4."

Woodhouses was transferred to the neighbouring parish of Okeover in 1916.

Woodhouses was not found on any map. There is another Woodhouses near Yoxall in southern Staffordshire to be found on Google Earth.
