Whittington is a civil parish created in 1955 in Hexham Rural District in Northumberland, England. It absorbed the following civil parishes:

In 1974 rural districts were abolished and Whittington became part of the Tynedale District until 2009 when Northumberland became a unitary authority.

Whittington is 7 miles NE of Hexham with a population of 401, as of the 2011 British Census, and an area of 1494 acres. It is often referred to as Great Whittington, the name of the largest village and the name of the earlier civil parish. Little Whittington parish was absorbed into Corbridge at the same time.
