West Tytherley is a village and civil parish in the Test Valley District of Hampshire. Its nearest town is Stockbridge, which lies approximately 6 miles (10 km) northeast from the village, but West Tytherley's post town is Salisbury. Since 1974 the village has shared a joint parish council with the neighbouring parish of Frenchmoor.
West Tytherley was in the Stockbridge Rural District from 1894 until 1932, and in the Romsey and Stockbridge Rural District from 1932 until 1974. Since 1974 the parish has been in the Test Valley District of Hampshire.
