Wear Valley was a non-metropolitan district in County Durham, England. It was established in 1974 and abolished in 1996 and replaced by Durham County Council which became a unitary authority at that time. It includes Bishop Auckland, Crook, Willington, Hunwick, and the villages along the Weardale Valley.
