I'd like to find relatives on my father's side who all come from this village in Istria/Primorje region. On my grandmother's side our last name was Afrić (her name was Dragizza Afric and she lived approximately 1907 to 1942; she had died and was buried in Florence/Firenze where she spent later part of her life). That family name is one of the oldest in the village and can be traced, I belive, to the mid 18th century. My father was born out of wedlock, his last name was Josip Gregorić and he was born in Veli Brgud 31. Aug 1928. He took part in the Istrian resistance movement and later became a high ranking officer in the Tito era army. Please contact me if you have more information about the Afric or Gregoric family from Veli Brgud and vicinity...(My grandmother had three brothers, one of whom spent his entire life in the nearby coastal city of rijeka and was named Stanko Gregoric. Another brother was my great uncle Mike (Marjan) Gregoric who emigrated to the States in the 20's and spent his entire life in the us, mostly in the Chicago region. He died in Chicago in 1977.
