Tunworth is a hamlet and civil parish in the Basingstoke and Deane District of Hampshire. It is located approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) from Basingstoke, the nearest major town. There are numerous villages nearby, such as Upton Grey, 1.5 miles (2.4 km) to the east, Weston Patrick, 1.6 miles (2.6 km) to the south east, Mapledurwell, 2.8 miles (4.5 km) to the north, Winslade, 1.9 miles (3.0 km) to the west, and Herriard, 3.0 miles (4.8 km) to the south. Distances given are measurements by road.
A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Tunworth from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:
- "TUNWORTH, a parish in Basingstoke [registration] district, Hants; 3½ miles SE of Basingstoke [railway] station. Post town: Basingstoke. Acres: 1,104. Real property: £1,128. Population: 118. Houses: 23. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Winchester. Value: £150. Patron: F. J. E. Jervoise, Esq. The church is good."
