Thorpe Langton (derived from the Anglo-Saxon word for an enclosure, meaning "long town") is a village and civil parish in the Harborough District of Leicestershire, England, about four miles north of Market Harborough. The parish had a population of 171 according to the 2001 UK census. Ten years later, in the 2011 census, the population had grown to 200. Thorpe Langton was classed as a chapelry and township of the much larger parish of Church Langton before becoming a modern civil parish in 1866. When it became a parish it became part of Market Harborough Poor Law Union which was established in 1834 under the reforms of the Poor Law Act. Thorpe Langton's Church of England Church is dedicated to St. Leonard. It is of medieval origin dating back to 13th – 15th century A.D. and was formerly the chapelry to the church at Church Langton.
