Thoralby is now a civil parish and a village in the Richmondshire District of North Yorkshire, England. It lies south of Aysgarth, is within a mile of the villages of Newbiggin and West Burton and is in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It is 23.5 miles (37.8 km) southwest of the county town of Northallerton. The parish has a present-day population of 145.

Prior to the nationwide municipal reorganization of 1974, Thoralby was in the Aysgarth Rural District of the North Riding of Yorkshire from 1894. Historically it was in the ecclesiastical parish of Aysgarth in the wapentake of Hang West.
