As explained in an August 8, 2012 article in the Renfrew Mercury entitled "Thomsonville Cemetery in need of financial help" the sign for the cemetery includes an extraneous "p" in the name so the cemetery is frequently referred to as Thompsonville Cemetery. It is operated by the Renfrew Public Cemetery Company and in some sources is referred to as the Renfrew Public Cemetery. Rev. George Thomson, who is buried here, originally owned the land on which this cemetery is located. It was for him that Thomsonhill was named. [edit] Resources
