Thimbleby is a village and civil parish in the Hambleton district of North Yorkshire, England. It is in the North Yorks Moors and near Osmotherley and the Cleveland Way 5 miles east of Northallerton.
Prior to the nationwide municipal reorganization of 1974, Thimbleby was located in Northallerton Rural District. Historically, it was located in the ancient parish of Osmotherley in the Allerton Wapentake. It was in the Northallerton Registration District.
