Tecopa (formerly Brownsville[1]) is a census-designated place (CDP) in the Mojave Desert, in Inyo County, California, United States. Tecopa is located south-southeast of Shoshone, at an elevation of .[2] The population was 150 at the 2010 census, up from 99 at the 2000 census.

One of Tecopa's popular features is its natural hot springs.

Tecopa was named after the Paiute leader Chief Tecopa.
