Swanton Morley is a village and civil parish situated in the heart of Norfolk 18 miles from the centre of Norwich and three miles from Dereham. It covers an area of 11.14 km2 (4.30 sq mi) and had a population of 2,415 in 783 households at the 2001 UK census, reducing to a population of 2,100 in 723 households at the 2011 UK census. For the purposes of local government it is in the Breckland District.
The village has a long history; it was documented in the 11th-century Domesday Book, and was home to the ancestors of Abraham Lincoln. It has links to the armed forces through the nearby Robertson Barracks.
