NOTE: There is also a place named Stoke (near Chester) in the county of Cheshire. Both are small rural parishes. There is also Stoke-on-Trent, the large borough in the neighbouring county of Staffordshire. Care should be taken not to confuse them.
Stoke (near Nantwich) is a civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. The parish is predominantly rural with a total population of around 200. The largest settlement is Barbridge, which lies 3½ miles to the north west of Nantwich. The parish also includes the small settlements of Stoke Bank and Verona. Nearby parishes include Aston juxta Mondrum, Burland, Calveley, Haughton, Worleston and Wardle.
Stoke (near Nantwich) was a township in Acton ancient parish in Nantwich Hundred which became a civil parish in 1866. The ancient parish church for the township of Stoke was St. Mary's in Acton.
