Slaidburn is a village and civil parish since 1974 within the Ribble Valley District of Lancashire, England. With a population in 2001 (UK census figure) of just under 300, the parish covers just over 5,000 acres of the Forest of Bowland. Historically in the West Riding of Yorkshire, Slaidburn lies near the head of the River Hodder and Stocks Reservoir, both within the Forest of Bowland. Farming is still a major employer. The civil parish of Slaidburn shares a parish council with Easington (Bowland Forest), a rural parish to the north of Slaidburn.

Historically, Slaidburn was an ecclesiastical parish in Staincliffe and Ewcross Wapentake. The historic parish of Slaidburn comprised the townships of High Bowland Forest, Easington (Bowland Forest), Newton in Bowland and Slaidburn itself.

From 1894 until 1974, Slaidburn was located in Bowland Rural District. In 1974 the area became part of the Ribble Valley District of Lancashire.
