Skirlaugh Rural District was located in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England from 1894 to 1935. The civil parishes of the district surrounded the Hornsea Urban District on its landward sides. Patrington Rural District was to the south; Sculcoates Rural District was to the west, closer to Hull. All three Rural Districts contributed parishes to Holderness Rural District in 1935. The district was created by the Local Government Act 1894, and was abolished in 1935 by a County Review Order made under the Local Government Act 1929.
