Scarborough Rural District was an administrative division of the North Riding of Yorkshire surrounding the town of Scarborough. The whole of the rural district was absorbed into Scarborough Municipal Borough in 1953. In the municipal reorganization of 1974, Whitby and its Rural District joined with Scarborough to become Scarborough Borough, North Yorkshire.
