• "ST. PIE DE GUIRE, a thriving post village and parish in Yamaska co., Que., on Rivière aux Vaches, a tributary of the St. Francis, 11 miles from St. Guillaume. The village contains extensive iron works and foundries, 1 church, 4 stores and saw and grist mills. In the vicinity are valuable iron mines. Pop. 200; of parish 1200."
