Ravenel or Ravenel-sur-Oise is a commune in the Oise department in northern France. It is located about 70 kilometres north of Paris. The name Ravenel originates form the name of a flower belonging to the Brassicaceae family. The Ravenel church, now closed to the public, was originally built in the 13th century but was damaged in the Hundred Years War and subsequently restored. [edit] Research Tips
