Priceville is located on north side of the Southwest Miramichi River across from McNamee, on the road from Storeytown to Porter Cove in Ludlow Parish, Northumberland County. It was named for Walter Price, an Anglican missionary. John Price, Chester Price, Howard Price, Philip Price, James Price, Charles Price, Frederick Price, Alexander Price, Henry Price, William Price, Nathaniel Price and Richard Price were early settlers here. Upper Miramichi became a rural community on 17 March 2008, having formerly been a local service district with the same name. The rural community includes sixteen neighbourhoods in the county of Northumberland and in the northeastern corner of Stanley Parish, York County stretching between McGivney and the village of Doaktown including Astle, Big Hole Brook, Bloomfield Ridge, Boiestown, Carrolls Crossing, Hayesville, Holtville, Ludlow, McGivney, McNamee, Nelson Hollow, New Bandon, Parker Ridge, Porter Cove, Priceville, and Taxis River.
