[edit] Research TipsJames P. Dahm and his sister Dorothy Van Kooten wrote a book (120 pages) called "Peoria, Iowa: A Story of Two Cultures With an In-depth Look at the Hollander Fires 1853-1993" Dr. Dahm is located in Pella, Iowa and might have some copies of the book to sell. He copied much of the information on the early beginnings of the town from Semira Phillips "The History of Mahaska County" written 1878. He also has information from "Portrait and Biographical Album of Mahaska County" published 1887. Both these primary resources, plus the "Peoria, Iowa" book, are held at the nearby Oskaloosa Public library. |
