North Otterington has been since 1974 a village and civil parish in the Hambleton District of North Yorkshire, England. It is on the A167 road and 3 miles (4.8 km) south of Northallerton. South Otterington is further south on the same road.

Prior to the nationwide municipal reorganization of 1974, North Otterington was located in Northallerton Rural District. Historically, it was an ancient parish in the Allerton Wapentake and included the townships of Thornton le Beans and Thornton le Moor. It was in the Northallerton Registration District.
