Nismes is a village Northeast of Couvin, in the Eau Noire valley. It is surrounded by hills and limestone plateaus. A few kilometers to the south, at the edge of the forest, the Regnissart hamlet sits in a clearing and stretches east-west. With its 1800 inhabitants, Nismes is the biggest village in the Viroinval commune and its administrative center. It is mostly known for its natural resources and its geological findings (Les Fondrys).
