Newmains is a village and former mining community within the former parish of Cambusnethan and located in North Lanarkshire since 1996. It is 18 miles (29 km) south-east of Glasgow and 2 miles (3km) east of Wishaw. For administrative purposes, Newmains is now considered to be part of the town of Wishaw.
