New Galloway is a town in the historical county of Kirkcudbrightshire in Dumfries and Galloway. It lies on the west side of the valley of the Water of Ken, north of the end of Loch Ken. Before the local government reform of 1975, it was the smallest Royal Burgh in Scotland.

New Galloway was located in the parish of Kells in the former County of Kirkcudbrightshire in southwest Scotland. This area is now part of the unitary authority called the Dumfries & Galloway Council Area. The population of New Galloway has never reached 500 in the past 150 years. It is therefore being described here as a village.
