Marshland St. James is a civil parish formed in 1935 in the west of the English county of Norfolk. It covers an area of 25.69 km2 (9.92 sq mi) and had a population of 1,137 in 456 households at the 2001 UK census, increasing to 1,209 at the 2011 UK census. For the purposes of local government, it falls within the district of King's Lynn and West Norfolk.
Marshland St. James was formed from detached parts of the parishes of The map of Norfolk dated 1917 shows all these detached portions in the southern part of Marshland Rural District. Note the distance of Clenchwarton parish and Terrington St. Clement from their detached parts. Marshland St. James is marked on the Ordnance Survey Map of Norfolk revised 1944.
