Lansdowne is located 3.84 km E of Stickney in Peel Parish, Carleton County, New Brunswick, Canada. It was named for Henry Charles Keith Petty-Fitzmaurice, 5th Marquis of Lansdowne, 1845-1927, who was Governor General of Canada from 1883-1888. It included the smaller or former community of Alexandrina which had a post office 1884-1885. There was a post office in Lansdowne 1885-1913. In 1898 Lansdowne was a settlement with 1 post office, 1 church and a population of 200. (Source:Place Names of New Brunswick)
