Kirkconnell is very small and lies just west of the Tarff Water, nearly 2 miles (3 km) northwest of Ringford to the southwest of Castle Douglas. Kirkconnell Moor and the Towers of Kirkconnell are to the south and to the north, on a stream flowing eastwards out of Loch Mannoch, are the waterfalls of Kirkconnell Linn. Kirkconnell was located in the parish of Tongland in the former County of Kirkcudbrightshire in southwest Scotland. This area is now part of the unitary authority called the Dumfries & Galloway Council Area. NOTE: This Kirkconnell is named Kirkconnell in Tongland to differentiate it from Kirkconnell in New Abbey parish. [edit] Research TipsRefer to the parish of Tongland |
