General Info
- Iron Hill[1] was a hamlet in the historical county of Brome.
- In 1971, the municipalities of Brome, Knowlton, and Foster and hamlets of Bondville, Fulford, Iron Hill, and West Brome consolidated under the name of Lac-Brome.[2]
- "IRON HILL, a post village in Brome co., Que., 5 miles from West Shefford and 16 miles from Sweetsburg. It is a good summer resort in a beautiful hilly country, having daily mails from Montreal, and telephone connection throughout the Eastern Townships. It contains 2 churches, English and Union, 1 store, 1 saw and planing mill. 1 carriage and 1 cheese and butter factory. Pop. 300."
