Huby is now a village in the Harrogate District of North Yorkshire, England about five miles southwest of Harrogate. (Because it is just a village within a township by the name of Weeton, Wikipedia does not give its population.)

The village is on the A658 road between Otley and Harrogate. It is served by Weeton railway station on the line which links Leeds with Harrogate. The village has a Methodist chapel.

The Atkinson family, who lived in the village, are the focus of a 1978 book by Colin Gordon (A Richer Dust: Echoes from an Edwardian Album, published by Elm Tree Books/Hamish Hamilton). It includes a family tree beginning with Henry Atkinson (1823–92) and Ellen Backhouse (1827–1908) along with many illustrations, rescued from photographic plates found on a market stall. The village is also the subject of a booklet by Joan Coombs: The Area of Benefit: a History of Huby and Weeton and nearby villages, published circa 1977.

Historically, Huby was part of the township of Weeton in the ancient and ecclesiastical parish of Harewood in the Upper division of the Skyrack Wapentake. From 1894 until 1974, Weeton was located in Wetherby Rural District. In 1974 the area became part of the Harrogate District of North Yorkshire.
