Hertford St. John Rural was formed in 1894 from holdings the ecclesiastical parish of Hertford St. John had to the south of the county town of Hertford in Hertfordshire, England. The parish was abolished and the land was divided between the town of Hertford and the parish of Brickendon Liberty, a neighbouring parish to the west, in 1929.
