  • "GRENVILLE, a post village in Argenteuil co., Que., on the River Ottawa and on the C.P.R., 56 miles from Montreal and about 60 miles from Ottawa. It is at the head of the Carillon Canal. It contains 4 churches, Episcopal, Roman Catholic, Presbyterian and Methodist, about 12 stores, 2 hotels, saw and shingle mills and 2 telegraph offices. Pop. 502."
