Grant Township is a civil township of Mason County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the township population was 909. Grant Township was named in 1867 for General Ulysses S. Grant, who soon afterward became the 18th President of the United States. In the traditional township numbering for the State of Michigan, Grant Township consists of T 20 N, R 17 W with Section 6 slightly truncated by Lake Michigan and T 20 N, R 18 W substantially truncated by Lake Michigan.
