Gowerton (Welsh: Tregŵyr) is a village and community (a civil parish before 1974) in Swansea (principal area) (or the City and County of Swansea) situated about 4 miles northwest of Swansea city centre. Gowerton is often known as the gateway to Gower. Gowerton's original name was Ffosfelin. It had a population of 8,183 in the UK census of 2011.
